What is Rhinoplasty (Nose Reshaping) for?
Rhinoplasty changes the shape of the nose by reshaping bone and cartilage. It may address a bridge hump, nasal tip, width or asymmetry. Breathing concerns need a separate assessment of the nasal airway; cosmetic reshaping alone does not necessarily improve airflow. Recovery time
Bruising and swelling are common early in recovery. Many patients allow about 1–2 weeks before returning to desk work or social activities. Activity restrictions and splint care depend on your operation. Swelling, particularly at the tip, can take a year or longer to fully settle.
First week
Follow your surgeon's instructions for rest, head elevation and any splint or dressing. Swelling, bruising and nasal congestion are expected; attend your scheduled follow-up.
Weeks 1–2
Many patients feel ready for desk work as visible bruising improves. The timing depends on your procedure and healing.
Following weeks
Avoid strenuous exercise, impacts to the nose and pressure from glasses until your surgeon clears them.
Up to a year or longer
Residual swelling gradually resolves. Tip definition and the final appearance take time; revision decisions require an individualized assessment.

Insurance coverage
- Cosmetic nose reshaping is generally not covered by insurance.
- Treatment for a documented breathing obstruction or injury may qualify under your plan, but coverage for functional work does not automatically include cosmetic changes.
- The office can review your benefits and any pre-approval requirements before scheduling.
What does it cost?
- Your quote depends on the planned surgery, surgeon's fee, anesthesia and facility costs.

- If part of treatment qualifies for insurance, your share depends on your deductible and other plan terms.
Common questions
Can rhinoplasty help me breathe better?
Sometimes airway treatment can be included, but the cause of obstruction must be evaluated first. Cosmetic rhinoplasty alone is not a guarantee of better breathing.
Will I have a visible scar?
Incisions depend on the approach. An open approach uses a small incision between the nostrils; a closed approach places incisions inside the nose. Your surgeon will explain the approach and scarring risks that apply to you.
When will I see my final result?
Changes are visible before all swelling resolves, but the final result can take a year or longer, especially at the tip.
Are the gallery photos real patients?

What are the risks?
